EUREKA Conference 2017

“Sustainable technologies for a better life” is the guiding theme of the second edition of EUREKA, an innovative and participatory conference organised by EPEE and EVIA, two leading associations headquartered in Brussels and representing the HVACR industry in Europe.
The event will start with keynote speeches from Prof. Dr. Claudia Kemfert, Head of Department at the German Institute for Economy (DIW), and Thorsten Herdan, Director General at the German Federal Ministry for Economy and Energy (BMWI). This will be followed by a series of interactive brainstorming sessions, one of which will be led by REHVA Secretary General Anita Derjanecz.
Other speakers include representatives from international organisations such as the United Nations, European and international associations, NGOs, and industry.  Discussions will touch on key subjects such as energy efficiency in buildings, the importance of indoor air quality, the cold chain, and food loss.
The first edition of EUREKA in 2016 brought together more than 120 participants from the entire HVACR sector - including industry, academia, political decision-makers, and civil society

The discussions resulted in a Visionary Paper which aims to help industry adapt their products and services to the requirements and demands of future consumers, so-called “Generation Z” - those born between the mid-1990s and early 2000s.EUREKA 2017 will also actively engage with “Generation Z” in a unique, cross-generation debate. Participants will discuss themes such as climate change, a growing world population with increasing energy needs who spend more time inside buildings than their predecessors, as well as growing trends such as digitization and the sharing economy.
