The Emilia-Romagna Technopoles

    The exhibition opening will be on 16 February 2011 in the Berlaymont Building, the European Commission’s Headquarter. Brussels.

    The Emilia-Romagna Technopoles and High Technology Network will be on display in Brussels from the 16 till the 23 February 2011 at the European Commission’s Headquarter, the Berlaymont Building. Alongside with the exhibition, R&D policies and programmes implemented by the Emilia-Romagna Region will be presented and discussed in workshops and seminars.

    The Technopoles Project is co-funded by the 2007-2013 ERDF ROP and is the further step  of the Regional High-Technology Network made up of 45 industrial research laboratories and innovation centres, organized in thematic platforms: agri-food, construction, energy and environment, ICT & design, mechanics and materials, life sciences. Laboratories  will facilitate and promote technology transfer and the development of new high-tech enterprises, through the setting up of 10 technopoles throughout the regional territory.
    The overall 241 million euro investment is earmarked for the funding of research projects, purchase of scientific equipment and for supporting research, technology transfer and spin-off creation facilities, employing 1600 researchers.

    The opening of the Exhibition will be held on 16 February. Further events are planned and will involve major institutional representatives from Emilia-Romagna and from the European Commission and will offer the opportunity to exchange experiences between European institutions and Regions, research centres, universities and enterprises.

    The exhibition will also launch R2B – Research to Business, the international event dedicated to research and business matchmaking, which will take place in Bologna on 8 and 9 June 2011. Web page.
