Call for Papers: Young Energy Researchers Conference

Only a few days left to take part in the Call for Papers of the next Young Energy Researchers Conference and Awards that will be held on 24 February 2026 in Wels/Austria as part of the World Sustainable Energy Days 2026 (WSED). The WSED are a leading annual conference on the energy transition and climate neutrality endorsed by REHVA.

The Young Energy Researchers Conference 2026 will be held on 24 February 2026 in Wels/Austria as part of the annual World Sustainable Energy Days (WSED) – a leading international conference on the energy transition and climate neutrality.

The Young Energy Researchers Conference presents the work and achievements of young researchers in the fields of biomass and energy efficiency.

A great opportunity for young researchers and professionals! 

  • Peer reviewed: a high-level scientific committee selects papers for oral and poster presentation
  • Best Young Energy Researcher Awards: 1,000 Euro each as prize money
  • Networking: interacting with researchers and industry experts from all over the world and building-up a peer network
  • Participation costs covered! The conference organiser covers the costs of accommodation, meals, participation and local transport for up to 60 selected young researchers.

Call for Papers – Submission deadline: 10 October 2025

Young researchers (born after 1990) are invited to submit contributions from any scientific field (e.g. technology, engineering, economics, social sciences, architecture, law, arts) on the topics of energy efficiency and biomass by using the online form.

The event is organised by the OƖ Energiesparverband, the Energy Agency of Upper Austria. Upper Austria is a leader region in the energy transition: Through significant increases in energy efficiency and renewable energy, greenhouse gas emissions from buildings were reduced by 42 %. Over 72 % of all space heating and 33 % of the primary energy already come from renewables.
