The goal of this project is to develop and demonstrate pragmatic services and appropriate tools with high replication potentials supporting quality management (QM) for building performance in the design, construction, commissioning and operation phase to close the gap between predicted and actual energy performance in European buildings.

QUANTUM solutions:

  • QUANTUM developed an online, cost effective and simple performance test-bench tool and methodology to assess delivered performance and ensure quality in buildings. The core mechanism is to “design for testability” by specifying transparent performance targets with cost effective testing methodologies. The QUANTUM methodology was applied by the German federal government in its guideline fo public buildings and has the potential of further uptake at EU level.
  • REHVA will publish a guidebook on the Quality management of buildings to ensure high performances to foster the further deployment among professionals.

REHVA raises awareness among professionals and EU policy makers about the importance of digital technical monitoring and quality management for building performance. REHVA has been promoting the QUANTUM technical monitoring tool and approach at several REHVA seminars, industry fairs and its publications. REHVA has published a Guidebook on Quality Management for building performance written by the consortium. REHVA used the project outcomes to develop evidence-based policy recommendation and position papers during the current EPBD review and will continue to promote the approach to support the successful implementation on the revised EPBD
