In response to Europe’s dependency on imported fossil fuels, the REPower EU Plan calls on us to fast forward the clean energy transition, especially for the heating and cooling of our buildings.
The demand for professionals skilled in decarbonised heating/cooling has already risen dramatically, but businesses in the construction ecosystem are underprepared. We address this skills mismatch by improving training in VET/HE for future workers, while emphasising C-VET to build the skills of today’s workers. As well as enterpriseeducation collaboration, we include the public sector (municipalities) and banking sector in order to create an environment in which this training and investment in clean heating/cooling is incentivised for enterprises.

The project aims to:

  • Equip 1,200 educators across universities, VET, and CVET with industry-relevant insights on decarbonized heating and cooling through the Landscape Analysis Report, enhancing curricular design and training quality.
  • Improve training accessibility by developing curricula, teacher guides, and open educational resources, benefiting 1,200 educators and enabling 600 mid-career professionals to upskill through an online diploma course.
  • Establish eight regional intersectoral alliances with 50+ stakeholders to drive investments in training and skills for the energy transition.
