REHVA welcomes a new colleague !

After attaining a broader knowledge and understanding of HVAC, REHVA welcomes again Andrei Litiu after his first contract working for REHVA in 2011-2012. He will begin October 1st to assist Anita Derjanecz in the European Projects. Since last time, Andrei has been project manager for almost a dozen HVAC projects for new buildings in Timisoara (Romania), taking the projects from conception to commissioning, thus acquiring a good set of technical and human relations skills. Among other responsibilities, Andrei was also the IT System Administrator for his employer. You can reach him at al@rehva.eu

Journal Section in the REHVA Website

REHVA Journal website is becoming more and more an important vehicle to disseminate technical and scientific information. The REHVA Journal has its own section in REHVA’s website. Each issue of the REHVA journal is available in PDF and each article is available and downloadable in PDF and html format. In 2012, the articles were read and downloaded more than 50 000 times. SAVE THE DATE!
Joint iSERV - REHVA Technical Seminar 13 February 2014, Brussels, Belgium

REHVA is organising its 2014 Technical Seminar together with the iSERV project consortium around the topic: Energy Efficient Operation of HVAC Systems. iSERV is approaching to its end, so it is time to discuss project results and their further use in an EU-level seminar inviting also high level EC speakers.

3ENCULT Study Tour. Historic buildings renovation in Bolzano (Italy) and Innsbruck (Austria)

ICLEI Europe and the 3ENCULT project consortium organised a study tour for local authorities on energy efficient solutions to preserve historic buildings. Visits took place in the cities of Innsbruck (Austria) and Bolzano (Italy), allowing attendants to see first-hand examples of successful retrofits. Several technical solutions and prototypes where shown to participants, which were developed during the project according to the specific requirements of listed buildings. One example is the refurbishment of the heating and ventilation system developed for the Monumental School in Innsbruck.

European Policy News

REHVA position paper on Energy Labelling and Ecodesign Directives

REHVA, as an acknowledged stakeholder, was invited by DG Energy to submit a position paper by end of September as part of the review of the Energy Labelling and the Ecodesign Directives. With contribution of the members and supporters, the REHVA Board submitted the position paper, which is available on REHVA website. Click here to dowload it. REHVA participates in the next stakeholder meeting to be held on 14 October 2013 to discuss further details.

Views from stakeholders on the effectiveness and improvement of the regulatory framework are collected also via an online consultation from end of August until November 2013. The online consultation includes multiple-choice questions tailored to different stakeholder groups and many free text fields to provide your views. The survey is available until end of November here.


REHVA position paper on indoor air quality

REHVA is preparing a further position paper on indoor air quality and climate addressing policy makers and authorities. The paper will point out the potential conflicts between energy efficiency, occupancy and indoor air quality and climate.  The paper uses the result of the HealthVent project and other EU projects, and is linked to the work of a new REHVA Task Force, which aims at preparing several position papers in the future on Indoor Environment to achieve a better understanding among decision makers on IAQ issues and to have an impact on EU and national policy and regulations. The first position paper will be available soon on the REHVA website.


Cooperation Agreement between CEN, CENELEC and Rosstandart

Historic agreement provides basis for closer cooperation between European and Russian standardization organizations. Leaders from the European and Russian standardization organizations have signed an historic agreement in St Petersburg on 17 September. The Cooperation Agreement between CEN, CENELEC and Rosstandart provides a framework for closer collaboration on various aspects of standardization, which will facilitate trade in goods and services between Europe and Russia.
