The registration to attend CLIMA 2016, the 12th REHVA World Congress is now open!

In May 2016, Aalborg will host one of the most significant professional events of the year focused on heating, ventilation and air conditioning in buildings – the REHVA Congress CLIMA 2016. The Congress will be the 12th REHVA international Congress. CLIMA 2016 puts a great emphasis on contributions that will address those skilled in this art. Therefore, the Congress Programme includes presentations of contributions, posters, workshops, as well as an additional expert lessons such as the REHVA Courses. Increase Your HVAC Knowledge by Attending REHVA Courses at CLIMA 2016!

REHVA is offering two educational courses of three hours each covering best practices for building, design and operation at CLIMA 2016 in Aalborg. The training couples technology advancements with real-world practices and draws upon new REHVA literature. Each attendee receives course materials and a certificate of attendance. The courses are presented in English only. Choose from two short courses to help you stay current on industry trends and cutting edge technology: Nearly Zero Energy building design and performance and Chilled Beam Technology for Excellent Indoor Climate in Sustainable Buildings. REHVA workshops at CLIMA 2016

The REHVA workshops will take place parallel to other sessions at CLIMA 2016 congress. Each workshop will focus on a specific question or questions. The results will be presented to the Conference participants in a summary report that will be sent to all participants after the conference. REHVA seminars during the following events - Save the dates !

REHVA will organise in collaboration with STP (Society of Environmental Engineering) a seminar during Aqua Therm Praha on Wednesday 2 March 2016. The topic will be EU's energy and environmental strategy and its impact to HVAC world. More information

REHVA will organise in collaboration with VDI-GBG a seminar during Light and Building in Frankfurt on Tuesday 15 March 2016 (from 14.00 to 17.00). The topic will be Technical Monitoring. More information

REHVA will organise in collaboration with AiCARR a Seminar during Mostra Convegno in Milan on Thursday 17 March 2016. The topic will be Principles, expected effects and national implementations of European Directive 31/2010 and 27/2012. More information


FINVAC Seminar on The Impact of CE Marking and EU Regulation on HVAC Industry and Profession

On 27 January 2016, FINVAC, the Finnish member association of REHVA, arranged in Helsinki a half-day seminar on the impact of CE marking and EU regulation on HVAC industry and profession. More information

REHVA European HVAC Journal subscription

REHVA European HVAC Journal issues

The January issue of the REHVA Journal (1/2016) is now available online.
The March issue of the REHVA Journal (2/2016) will focus on EPB standards and European Certification and Energy efficient HVAC Systems. The editor of this issue is Jaap Hogeling (jh(at)rehva.eu)


Subscribe to the restricted area of the REHVA website

As of January 2015, there is a private area in the website. To gain access to this section a user name and a password are required. REHVA asks you for a small financial contribution to be able to continue this extra service in the future: access to the restricted area is 40€ per year for all and 30€ for the members of REHVA Member Associations. EU Policy News

EPBD review - REHVA contribution to JRC report on healthy and efficient buildings 

The EU Joint Research Center (JRC) is prepared a report on "Promoting healthy and energy efficient buildings in the European Union" analysing IAQ and health related aspects of the EPBD implementation and defining recommendations for the recent EPBD review. REHVA experts extensively contributed to the preparation of the report and its recommendations that will be also used for further REHVA advocacy actions and a REHVA Position paper to be elaborated by the Technical and Research Committee by April 2016. The final draft report and the summary of the recommendations are available in the EU Policy Tracking section of the REHVA website.


EU voluntary certification scheme for non-residential buildings

The consortium in charge of the work that is led by CSTB (French Building Research Institute) held its first meeting on 14 January 2016 in Paris to present the work schedule and discuss the first draft documents prepared by the consortium:

1. A "legislative part" on the overall organisation and the role of the different actors
2. An operational manual about with technical requirements of the VCS (e.g. the CEN standards, the scale).

REHVA expressed its interest in getting involved in the training of energy auditors certified by the scheme built on the outcomes of the PROF-TRAC platform joining REHVA Member Associations. The consortium is open to further discuss the possibility. Next meeting in planned in April 2016.

EU Project News 


SAVE THE DATE - PROF / TRAC workshop @CLIMA2016, Monday, 23 May 2016, Aalborg

PROF/TRAC will organise a workshop during CLIMA 2016 with the title "NZEB design and construction:  skill gaps and interdisciplinary training of professionals. The PROF-TRAC Training and Qualification Platform." on 23 May 2016, 11.00-12.30.

Several REHVA Member Associations have expressed interest in being involved in the scheme and in attending the "Train the Trainers" sessions. The workshop will be an opportunity to present the first achievements, to exchange about the experiences of the 4 project partner REHVA Members (ATECYR, DANVAC, HKIS, TVVL) and to discuss about the involvement of other REHVA Members in the PROF/TRAC Training and Qualification Platform. BUILD UP Portal revamped!

BUILD UP, the European portal for energy efficiency in buildings, launched a new website on 23 January. The new website offers improved navigation, a new layout and will ensure a mobile friendly experience with more sophisticated and tailored content. Check it out here

ISH China & CIHE 2016

ISH China & CIHE is organised by Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd and Beijing B & D Tiger Exhibition Co Ltd. It is headed by the biennial ISH event in Frankfurt, Germany, which is the world’s leading trade fair for the Bathroom Experience, Building, Energy, Air-Conditioning Technology and Renewable Energies. Nordbygg - 2016

Nordbygg is held in March/April every even year at Stockholmsmässan and attracts around 900 exhibitors and 53,000 visitors. Next event will take place 5-8 of April in 2016.  Nordbygg is organised in partnership with leading associations in the Swedish industry.
