On Wednesday 4 September, the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee is holding hearings with the nominee for the president of the European Central Bank, Christine Lagarde, which will follow with the plenary vote.

Moreover, this week is also crucial since several parliamentary committees will be discussing on their input for the EU 2020 budget. The final vote on 2020 budget is scheduled at the October's plenary session in Strasbourg.

Since July 2019, the current Finnish presidency of the Council is taking place and will be involved in this week's series of meetings at the European Parliament to discuss with related committees on Finnish priorities for the upcoming months.
