From the end of July 2019 and onwards the series of meetings are held between Finnish Presidency of the Council of the EU and Committees of the European Parliament.

One of the first hearings were held with ITRE (Industry, Research and Energy Committee), REGI (Regional Development Committee), EMPL (Employment and Social Affairs Committee), DEVE (Development) and EU-ACP Relations and TRAN (Transport and Tourism Committee).

The main priorities discussed between representatives of ITRE Committee and Economic Affairs Minister Katri Kulmuni of the Finnish Presidency exposed focus on modern industrial policy becoming more aligned with digital economy to enable greater research and innovation for sustainable growth in EU.

With strong emphasis on transition towards a climate – neutral economy, European institutions need to provide an agreement among EU member states on the EU’s 2021 – 2027 budget that will enable development of new and existing innovations and at the same time to build trust among citizens to apply this new technologies in their everyday life.
