The REHVA Brussels Summit was a success!
The Brussels Summit has officially concluded, leaving participants inspired and energized after two days of dynamic discussions, policy insights, and collaborative exchanges.
The event opened with vibrant committee meetings, where members explored REHVA’s strategic vision, sustainability initiatives, and objectives for the coming years. These sessions highlighted the ongoing commitment to strengthening ties across the REHVA community and reflecting on the significant progress achieved over the past years.
The policy conference on "HVAC in Zero Emission Buildings" set the stage for focused discussions on solutions for indoor environmental quality and affordable building strategies. REHVA President Livio Mazzarella welcomed attendees alongside Thomas Kattnig, Vice President of the TEN Section of the European Economic and Social Committee. The keynote by Niels Ladefoged from the European Commission, complemented by a video message from MEP Jutta Paulus, emphasized the importance of balancing high indoor environmental quality standards with energy efficiency across European legislation.
A dynamic panel discussion featuring experts Niels Ladefoged, Harm Valk, Gusts Kossovics, and Céline Carré, moderated by Jarek Kurnitski, provided in-depth perspectives on decarbonisation and legislative approaches. Subsequent sessions focused on building affordability within the EU legislative framework, featuring speakers Johann Zirngibl, Stefan Moser, Jana Bendžalová, Pedro Vicente-Quiles, and Pierre Cruveillé.
The summit concluded with the session “From Data to Deal: Unlocking Building Renovation Financing,” celebrating the achievements of the ENERGATE Project. Frank Hovorka, former REHVA President, shared reflections on financing energy efficiency, followed by presentations from Katerina Papapostolou and Ioanna Andreoulaki. A closing panel with Luca Pauletti, Ines Scacchi, Eline Blanchard, and José Antonio De Pedro Cuadrado wrapped up the event, emphasizing strategies to bridge gaps in affordable and smart renovation.
Thanks to the dedicated REHVA community, partners Euroheat & Power Summit, Eurovent Certification Summit, and the European Economic and Social Committee, the Brussels Summit was a testament to collaboration, innovation, and the shared commitment to a sustainable built environment.
The REHVA Family looks forward to continuing these conversations next year.
