REHVA Academy, REHVA's new eLearning platform, is now live. The platform is designed to expand the promotion of practical, applied knowledge in engineering services, with a focus on HVAC, and to become a reference, well-respected European training provider for upskilling and reskilling. It will support REHVA's Member Associations in their national training, qualification, and accreditation activities.

Two courses available now, more on the way

Several courses linked to EPBD IV (Directive (EU) 2024/1275) are under development. Two courses on smart building provisions are already available:

  • Smart Functions of Buildings, covering the fundamental aspects of smart functions as defined by European standards and technical frameworks.
  • Smart Readiness Indicator Assessment, a follow-up, applied course in which trainees learn to conduct high-quality Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI) assessments, following a structured procedure and using one of the commercial tools available for that purpose.

Why it matters

Upskilling is becoming a competitive edge in building service engineering, particularly around smart buildings. Under EPBD IV, the European Commission must adopt, by 30 June 2027, a delegated act requiring the SRI to be applied to non-residential buildings with an effective rated HVAC capacity above 290 kW.

Availability

Both courses were developed to reflect the European landscape and are currently available in English. National versions may become available through REHVA's network of Member Associations.
