Our REHVA French Member AICVF hold its 39th national congress mid-June in La Rochelle under the title “From energy savings to decarbonization”!

More than 350 participants attended the meeting. Several round tables were organized, one with the topic “EPBD 2024 and its impacts on the French regulation and voluntary labels”.

The round table was opened by a registered welcome speech from Niels LADEFOGED, European Commission, Head of unit ENER B.3, having in charge the EPBD and Ecodesign. Niels LADEFOGED recognized that REHVA and its national associations are key actors for the energy transition at European and national level because of their expertise and the holistic approach. It was interesting to notice that the “energy independency” is now among the main drivers for the Commission, and especially the phase-out of Russian gaz.

Johann Zirngibl, REHVA Vice president, underlined the good cooperation between REHVA and the Commission during the elaboration of the EPBD. He explained that the work is not finished yet because the transposition phase just started and that there are many possible interpretations in the EPBD. If REHVA and its member associations wish that there proposals are overtaken in the different Member States then an active cooperation is needed.

This message was also delivered by Livio Mazzarella, REHVA president, in the closing speech of the congress!
