On 18 November, during the 2025 Brussels Summit Policy Conference, REHVA President Livio Mazzarella and Gusts Kossovics, Managing Director of eu.bac, formalised their cooperation by signing a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement strengthens the relationship between the two organisations and establishes a structured framework for future collaborative actions.

About eu.bac

The European building automation controls association (eu.bac) represents Europe’s leading manufacturers and service providers in building automation, controls, and technical building management. Its members provide technologies that improve the energy performance of buildings, support decarbonisation, enhance indoor environmental quality, and enable smart, efficient, and digitally connected building infrastructure.

Deepening an Already Active Partnership

The MoU both codifies ongoing cooperation and sets the ground for wider collaboration in the years ahead. REHVA and eu.bac have already been working closely—bilaterally and within broader industry platforms—on shared priorities related to building performance, indoor climate, and EU policy. A central example is their joint involvement in the Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) Informal Gathering, an informal cluster of associations coordinating exchanges on indoor environmental quality and aligning positions on key EU dossiers. The MoU explicitly recognises and reinforces this cooperation. Beyond policy work, the partnership has also extended to joint high-level events, such as last year’s Presidents’ Lunch, which gathered sector leaders and policymakers to discuss decarbonisation, digitalisation, and the future of high-performance buildings. Together, these initiatives highlight the strong operational foundation upon which the new MoU builds, enabling both organisations to further support Europe’s building transformation.

A Strategic Step for the Sector

With this renewed commitment, REHVA and eu.bac reaffirm their shared ambition to advance indoor environmental quality, digitalisation, decarbonisation, and professional development across Europe’s building sector.
