On June 21 the European Commission published its second Recommendation on building modernisation to report on how certain provision of the EPBD can be best applied at national level to ensure a uniform understanding of the Member states during transposition measures. Member States have timeline until 10 March 2020 to transpose the new and revised provisions of the Directive into national law.

The main focus of the Recommendation on building modernisation is on the provisions relating to the Articles 2, 8, 14, 15, and Annex I of the EPBD, which include provisions on technical building system and their inspections, electromobility and calculation on energy performance of buildings.
