SmartLivingEPC project aimed to deliver a certificate which was issued with the use of digitized tools and retrieve the necessary assessment information for the building shell and building systems from BIM literacy, including enriched energy and sustainability related information for the as designed and the actual performance of the building.

Paris A. Fokaides
Associate Professor, Frederick University | Sustainable Energy Research Group (SERG)
Paris Fokaides is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Frederick University in Cyprus and the Principal Investigator of the Sustainable Energy Research Group (SERG). His research focuses on energy efficiency in the built environment, smart building technologies, and sustainability assessment tools. He has coordinated and participated in numerous EU-funded projects, including SmartLivingEPC, and is the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Sustainable Energy. Paris also collaborates closely with the industry through Euphyia Tech, a university spin-off specializing in digital tools for assessing the smartness and sustainability of buildings.
Ana Cunha
Ana Cunha is Strategic Sustainability Advisor and CSR Director of Deerns Group, a +750 staff Engineering & Consultancy firm, established in 10 countries and specialized in MEP Engineering, Sustainability strategy and Smart Building design of buildings in Real Estate, Data Centres, Airports and Labs (electronics, life sciences…). As Sustainability Lead for Real Estate and Strategic Advisor on ESG, Ana stimulates the sustainable transition of buildings throughout their multicriteria performance transformation, from decarbonisation to resource-efficiency and data-enablement. While Global Real Estate sector Director, Ana led the commercial development of Deerns Real Estate departments internationally, supporting Global Accounts, exchanging knowledge and monitoring trends and innovations for sustainable building design and operations.
Ana is also a:
- World Green Building Council and BuildingLife Ambassador for Decarbonisation since 2022, with a strong experience in International network coordination and on ESG, circular, health, well-being and digital transition for the building sector.
- Full member of ULI Europe (Urban Land institute) actively working on the Climate Transition Risks and Carbon Pricing topic, and is a consulting member of the “Resilience” Taskforce of LEED/USGBC.
- Founding member and Vice-Chair of the International Taskforce of the France Green Building Council (Alliance HQE-GBC) and of the Sustainable Building Alliance (SBA), as well as an active member of the Smart Building Alliance (SBA).
As former positions, Ana acted as Chair of the European Policy Taskforce of the World Green Building Council, as chair of the building Sustainability Indicators taskforce of the UNEP-SBCI (United National Environmental Programme – Sustainable Building and Climate Initiative), as Industry stakeholder for the European Commission development phase of LEVEL(S) - EU voluntary reporting framework for Buildings sustainable performance , having also been International Development Officer of the HQE Certification.
