REHVA EU Policy Newsletter - January 2026

REHVA will actively contribute to Futurebuild Belgium 2026, taking place on 27–28 January at Brussels Expo. The event brings together professionals committed to sustainable, low-carbon construction and the transition towards climate-neutral buildings.

As part of the conference programme, REHVA will be represented in the session Implementing EPBD IV: Indoor Environmental Quality and Decarbonisation through One Legislative Framework.”

The session will focus on how the revised Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD IV) can effectively combine energy performance requirements with improved indoor environmental quality.

The session will be delivered by Harm Valk, newly appointed REHVA Vice-President, who will share expert perspectives on legislative implementation, challenges for the building sector, and the role of HVAC and ventilation in meeting EPBD IV objectives.

REHVA’s participation highlights its continued commitment to supporting policymakers and building professionals in delivering healthy, energy-efficient and decarbonised buildings across Europe.
