From 8 to 13 March 2026, Light + Building will once again transform Frankfurt am Main into the international meeting place for the industry. Under the motto “Be Electrified – Electrifying Places. Illuminating Spaces.” the world’s leading trade fair for lighting and building services technology will present innovations, trends and forward-looking concepts. As the central platform for manufacturers, planners and decision-makers, it brings together the technological developments that will shape the European building sector in the years ahead.

We are delighted to welcome around 2,000 exhibitors from more than 50 countries, showcasing solutions for energy efficiency, building automation, lighting technology and connected systems. With the three top themes of the upcoming Light + Building – Sustainable Transformation, Smart Connectivity and Living Light – we place the key developments of the industry at the forefront. These themes reflect the technical and regulatory requirements that engineers must address today in planning, implementation and building operation.

Sustainable Transformation focuses on technologies that reduce energy consumption and emissions. Exhibitors will present systems for the use of renewable energies, new approaches to energy management, and components for resource-efficient building technology.

Smart Connectivity highlights the increasing integration of technical disciplines. Companies will showcase solutions that make data usable in real time, harmonise interfaces and thus enhance efficiency, operational reliability and maintenance workflows. For engineers, this offers valuable insights into the evolution of interoperable building systems.

LivingLight explores the current state of lighting technology – from functional lighting applications to intelligent, adaptive lighting systems. This theme illustrates how lighting quality, energy efficiency and control technology interact to deliver user-centred and economically viable concepts.

Across a total of 17 exhibition hall levels, manufacturers will present their innovations. The lighting section, located in the eastern area of the exhibition grounds, showcases the full spectrum of professional lighting. Meanwhile, the western section demonstrates how electrical engineering, automation, energy supply, security and digitalisation merge into integrated technical solutions.

For the REHVA network, Light + Building offers a concise overview of market innovations, technical standards and relevant industry developments. As the international flagship trade fair, it enables visitors to compare technologies from leading manufacturers, assess interfaces and discuss future requirements in direct dialogue.
