REHVA Newsletter November 2024

At the Brussels Summit 2024Guidebook 34: Instantaneous Wastewater Heat Recovery in Buildings was officially launched by Pablo Carnero Melero, Technical and EU Project Officer at REHVA.

The guidebook, developed in collaboration with the International Copper Association Europe, aims to provide practical insights into wastewater heat recovery systems for buildings.

The release of the guidebook offers a resource for improving energy efficiency and sustainability in buildings, contributing to ongoing efforts in the field.

Approximately two-thirds of showering energy needs is lost down the drain as wastewater at temperatures of around 35ÂșC. This represents a considerable opportunity for energy recovery. Instantaneous wastewater heat recovery systems (WWHRSs) are designed to capture and reuse this wasted energy, which effectively reduces the energy needed from hot water generators and leads to a significant decrease in overall energy consumption.
