World Sustainable Energy Days 2021

Boosting economic recovery with the energy transition! This is the focus of the next World Sustainable Energy Days 2021 (WSED), a leading international conference on achieving global climate neutrality, from 21-25 June 2021 in Wels/Austria.

Hybrid event: online or on-site

This "special edition" of the annual WSED is held as a hybrid event: You can participate online from anywhere in the world or on-site (following COVID rules in place at that time). After more than a year, this is one of the first international conferences offering on-site participation! Take advantage of this opportunity!

Energy transition ↔ Green recovery!

Europe is aiming for a 55 % reduction of CO2 emissions by 2030 as a milestone on its way to climate neutrality by 2050. It is crucial that the investment decisions made in the next few years put us on the path of being "fit for 55" by the end of this decade. The WSED show how we can make a green recovery happen in practice and how renewable energy and energy efficiency can contribute as an investment engine. It presents policies, technologies, markets and more!

The conference offers a comprehensive package of the following events:

  • European Energy Efficiency Conference
  • European Pellet Conference
  • Industrial Energy Efficiency Conference
  • Innovation Workshops: Green Finance, Buildings, Technologies
  • Young Energy Efficiency Researchers Conference
  • Energy Efficiency Policy Conference
  • Smart E-Mobility Conference

Each year, over 600 participants from more than 60 countries attend!

The event is organised by the OÖ Energiesparverband, the Energy Agency of Upper Austria. Upper Austria is a leader region in the energy transition: Greenhouse gas emissions from buildings were reduced by 39% in 10 years. Over 60% of all space heating and 31% of the primary energy already come from renewables.
