Welcome to our January 2022 Policy Newsletter! Every two months we aim to provide you a quick overview of the most impactful EU policy actions in the transformation towards a clean building stock in Europe. For more in-depth briefings we welcome you to subscribe for our Knowledge Hub and follow our Policy Tracking section for regular updates.

Policy initiatives shifted to a higher gear at the end of 2021 with the publication of the proposal for a revision of the Energy Performance in Building Directive (EPBD) and the agreement between Member States on the first part of the EU Taxonomy. In the revised EPBD the Commission introduces a variety of changes such as a definition for ‘Zero-Emission Buildings’, Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS), Renovation Passport and a more prominent place for the impact of ventilation throughout the whole Directive.
