From May 4th to 6th, 2022, the Portuguese capital will be the stage for one of the world's greatest events in the air conditioning sector, the CIAR 2022 - XVI Ibero-American Congress of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, an event that will bring together practitioners, industry professionals, policy makers, government officials, researchers and academics from various worldwide locations.
CIAR 2022 is an organization of the Portuguese Association of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (EFRIARC) together with the National Laboratory of Civil Engineering (LNEC) and the House of Latin America (CAL), aiming to promote the dissemination of knowledge, technical and scientific debate in the fields of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration, with special emphasis on the challenges and opportunities of the 14 associated countries of FAIAR - Federation of Ibero-American Associations of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.

Call for abstract
Proposed speakers must submit an abstract, written in Portuguese, Spanish or English, with a maximum of 150 words related to one of the following topics:
- Fundamentals and Applications
- High Performance and Sustainable Buildings and Systems
- Information and Communication Technologies for Smart Buildings
- Innovative Solutions and Technologies
- Refrigeration and Refrigerant fluids
- Ventilation and Air Quality
In addition to the paper’s title, the name of the author(s), the author’s affiliation, the abstract should include 3 to 5 keywords and indicate at least one of the topics listed above. You must also indicate your preference for a Normal (15m 00s) or a Short presentation (06m 40s).
Abstracts must be submitted by the deadline of October 1st, 2021, using CIAR 2022's online submission platform.
The proposed abstracts will be reviewed by the Congress Technical-Scientific Committee and the Authors will be notified of acceptance/rejection by November 1st, 2021.
If accepted (the abstract), you will be invited to prepare the following final documents:
- PAPER: Extension 4 to 7 pages.
- PRESENTATION: Duration of 15 minutes (Normal) or 6 minutes and 40 seconds (Short), depending on your choice and available slots.
The final documents shall be reviewed by CIAR 2022’s Technical-Scientific Committee before its integration into the final congress program.
All accepted papers will be published in CIAR 2002’s proceedings book. In addition, selected papers will be also published in the technical magazine “AVAC&R Revista Técnica do Ar Condicionado e da Refrigeração”.
