The European Commission has released a roadmap on how it aims to release an 'Action Plan on the Digitalisation of the Energy Sector' in the first quarter of 2022. The roadmap describes the context of digital technologies in the energy sector and the barriers the initiative aims to tackle. Digital technologies have a huge potential to contribute to the Green Deal and make Europe fit for a digital age which the Commission wants to ensure can be fulfilled.

Stakeholders are invited to provide feedback on the roadmap and give their input on what should be a part of the action plan by 23 September 2021. The feedback is an open text with a limit of 4,000 characters with the possibility of adding an additional document as an attachment. Once the action plan is published in early 2022, stakeholders will then have the opportunity to provide feedback on the plan itself.

This action plan can have a considerable impact on the building sector as well to better integrate digital technologies into EU policies and better explore synergies between smart buildings and smart grids at EU level.

Have a look at the roadmap and provide your feedback here.
