The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has launched the Innovation Challenge on Disease Resilient and Energy-Efficient Air-Conditioning Systems.

The challenge looks for technology innovations that help can boost disease resilience, energy efficiency, and smart digitalization in centralized air-conditioning systems in public buildings of ADB developing member countries. The challenge ultimately aims to mitigate the risks of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic and other airborne viruses in public buildings while promoting clean energy development.

The challenge is open to startups, academe (university students and faculty), research organizations and independent researchers, technology providers, and other public and private sector entities. Up to $295,000 will be awarded for the pilot installations of the best solutions.

Registration and submission of expression of interest will run until 11 June 2021 (23:59 GMT+8).
