As from 1 August, Ms Ditte Juul Jørgensen, currently the head of Competition Commissioner Margrethe Vestager’s office, will take the position of the Director-General of Commission’s energy department (DG Energy).

Ms Ditte Juul Jørgensen is Danish and been working for the European Commission since 1992. Since then she was mainly working in the area of trade matters and competition policy, including being the Head of the Economic Section in the EU Delegation to the United Nations in New York. Since November 2014 she is a Head of Competition Commissioner Margrethe Vestager.
