The European Parliament’s ENVI committee published a report about the effects of air pollution on health notably COVID-19. The report highlights the importance of ventilation to increase indoor air quality and the need for proper ventilation of indoor spaces to reduce Sars-COV-2 transmission. It also raises the question whether existing ventilation standards are sufficient to prevent the spread of SARS-CoV-2 indoors. While the report is a general overview, the fact that the ENVI Committee tackles this issue opens the possibility to raise awareness of the importance of IAQ and the definition of minimum IAQ requirements in building policies.
