On 6 July the members of the Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) Committee in the European Parliament have submitted all their amendments on the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) revision proposal, which was published by the Commission in December 2021. In total 1,526 amendments were proposed by ITRE, which will be discussed in September and voted upon later in Q3 2022.
Once the vote is done, the debate will go to a Plenary session in the Parliament who will vote on it there as well. If the ITRE amendments are accepted, the Parliament's negotiation position is ready for the inter-institutional dialogue with the Council.
The ITRE amendments include those of rapporteur Ciaran Cuffe (Greens/EFA, Ireland) who had published them in June 2022 already, you can read a briefing about the Cuffe-amendments in our REHVA Journal article.
