DASOL has New President

DASOL - National Department of Thermal Solar Energy ABRAVA - presents its new president, Amaurício Gomes Lúcio. On his third time in the chair (he has been ahead of Dasol in 2000-2002 and in 2012), Lúcio sees management as an opportunity to overcome challenges. "The energy considered alternative, every day becomes more competitive. If it weren’t for the crisis 2015 would have been a year of growth, but we still await the final tabulation of data from our annual survey. We are always willing to face the challenges and we will work for the sector’s interests to achieve our goals," he says. Lucio is a mechanical engineer, graduated from UFMG with emphasis on Thermal Engineering. Commission approves Project that fosters solar heating

The Senate Bill 5733/09 that becomes mandatory the priority use of alternative energy in water heating systems in buildings constructed with funds from the Housing Financial System (SFH), was approved on last January 6 by the Committee of Urban Development of the Chamber of Deputies in Brasilia DF. The project, which is being processed in conclusive nature has been approved by the Commission of Energy and Mines and will be analyzed by the Commission of Finance and Taxation, of Constitution and Justice and Citizenship. The proposal of Senator Marcelo Crivella (PRB-RJ) includes the adoption of standards that promote the use of clean energy sources - such as solar water heaters – in the water heating process of public and private buildings, among the general guidelines for urban policy of municipalities.

The text amends the Law 4.380 / 64 and the City Statute (Law 10.257 / 01). The proposal was approved as substitute presented by rapporteur Deputy Silvio Torres (PSDB-SP) and also provides tax incentives for the use of water heating systems with solar energy, or clean and equally autonomous and independent source of the National Interconnected System, in public or private buildings, in urban and rural areas of use intended for residential, agricultural, industrial, commercial and services, including in case of buildings of social interest. Participation of Brazilian companies in AHR Orlando in 2016 is a success

Expectation of generating business of US $ 10 million and 900 business meetings was the result of the participation of 12 Brazilian companies carried through ABRAVA Export Program and APEX-Brazil, for the largest international fair of HVAC-R sector.

Between January 25 and 27, the Abrava Export Program, partnership project between Abrava - Brazilian Association of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heating and Apex-Brazil - Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency, took twelve companies to the largest fair of the HVAC-R sector in the United States, the AHR Expo Orlando 2016 - fair held by ASHRAE - American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers. 

With the purpose of increasing companies exports in the refrigeration air conditioning, ventilation and heating sectors, the participation of Capmetal, Deltafrio, Frigoking, Globus, Joape, Multivac, Novus, Paranapanema, Polar, Powermatic, Termodin and Trox at AHR Expo 2016 resulted in more than 900 business meetings and a generating business expectation for the next 12 months of US$ 10 million. 

According to the manager of the ABRAVA Exports Program, Leila Vasconcelos: "We are pleased with the result, the growth of about 40% in volume of business expectations in relation to the last participation of companies in fairs abroad significantly contributes to the increase in exports, and the possibility to find new trading partners in other markets."

Tecumsehhasnew organizational structure

Tecumseh Products Company announces changes in its organizational structure, naming José Celso Lunardelli Furchi for the post of managing director of Tecumseh Brazil.
Furchi integrates the company since 1994 working in various areas such as Application Engineering, Sales and Marketing, having extensive experience in the company's business both locally and globally.

"The aforementioned organizational changes aim to achieve greater dynamism in the company's business management in Latin America as well as in all other areas where it operates, bringing positive results for shareholders, customers and employees," said Furchi. Jean-Claude Guetter is the new CEO of Midea Carrier for Latin America. Guetter comes from Electrolux Group where he directed operations in Latin America and the Caribbean, and took office last January 1 in the place of Carlos Renck, which becomes part of the Council of Midea Carrier ABC-JV. Ahead of the company's operations in Brazil, remains the CEO Luiz Felipe Costa. "Our segment is increasingly demanding and we created a structure that will better meet the needs of our customers, offering innovative products and expanding the Midea brand also in the appliance industry," explains Guetter. Danfoss expands family of valve blocks

Danfoss presents new ICF valves in sizes DN 50 to DN 65 for industrial cooling systems. The Flexline ™ ICF valve blocks family combines freedom of configuration and minimum number of welds in a compact and strong box. The block valves ICF has only a specification, but with multiple configurations. The common valve body can receive various interchangeable function modules, all with treatment against corrosion. Thus, the application of replacement valve blocks substituting the conventional options provides flexibility in installation, and reduces the risk of leakage, maintenance costs and downtime. Fujitsu General of Brazil receives award Top of Mind

Fujitsu General of Brazil received last January the Top of Mind 2015 Award in air conditioning. The Top of Mind Home & Market awarded major brands of architecture and urbanism sector, based on research conducted by Datafolha institute with segment’s professionals.

To elect the winners of this edition Datafolha institute interviewed 300 professionals, mostly architects, decorators, interior designers, urban planners, landscape architects, entrepreneurs and engineers from various regions of Brazil. Fujitsu receives the award in 2015 in the category acclimatization.


Training at Heatcraft Brazil 

Heatcraft Brazil, company of Lennox International Inc. group, included in the 2016 agenda is five courses for training of sectors professionals. Three editions of ATT (Advanced Technical Training) are planned for March, June and September, focused on mechanics, technicians and maintenance professionals involved directly with refrigerating area. Two IT issues (Industrial Training) are planned for May and October, aimed at professionals already working in the refrigeration market and seeking expertise in large installations. The course takes place in the Heatcraft headquarters in São José dos Campos, SP.

The course was restructured with theoretical and practical classes. In the program the first four days of training take place at the factory, and the fifth day at the SENAI lab in the city of Pindamonhangaba, where practical classes and the final evaluation will take place. At the end of training, participants who reach the average score of 7, receive the certificate with the benefit of being   included in the list of qualified and credentialed professionals.

The program content is developed by Heatcraft and distributed among the five days of training. Classes are taught by André Lago, an expert in refrigeration SENAI Oscar Rodrigues Alves and Alexandre Andrade, technical / commercial responsible for export segment of Heatcraft.

Chemours receives award "Environmental Project 2016"

The Chemours Company along with Climalife from UK, recently received the Environmental Project Award of the Year from ACR News, held in Birmingham, England. The project was a joint effort between Chemours, Climalife UK, Ultra Refrigeration and Lincoln Co-Op and involved the installation of a new cooling system using Opteon ™ XP40 refrigerant in a newly built Lincoln Co-Op convenience store. Located in Newark, England, the store is the first of its kind in the UK to use Opteon ™ XP40. The move to Opteon ™ was made in April 2015, and the expectation is to have about 5% energy savings, as well as significantly reducing the potential impact on global warming. "We are honored to receive this recognition and would like to greet our partners Climalife UK, Ultra Refrigeration and Lincoln Co-Op" said Diego Boeri, global business director of Chemours Fluorquímicos.


Condor opens first store in 2016

With an investment of R$ 40 million reais, the new Condor Bairro Costeira, in Araucaria, inaugurated last February 25th with installed system for energy saving and according to the company must achieve a 30% reduction in consumption. Heatcraft part of the expansion in the Industrial Park Ceratti

The Heatcraft Brazil and Advanced Thermal Systems in Brazil (ATS Brazil) are the companies responsible for the cooling design, supply and installation of equipment in the expansion of the industrial park of Ceratti, located in Vinhedo (SP). The project had an investment of R $ 4.3 million for an area of about 13,000 m². Heatcraft Brazil was responsible for the refrigeration equipment, as multicompressors, remote condensers, condensing units, evaporators and control and supervision system, and ATS Brazil responsible for the provision of preventive maintenance services and technical assistance of equipment from the start of operations of each phase.

There were in total 04 (four) expansion phases in the existing installation, all performed by ATS Brazil, and in operation since 2003. With refrigerated space of about 13,000 square meters, the project is expected to produce 60 tons of chilled products per day, corresponding to a value of R $ 1.6 million products daily turnover. According to the company, the variety of processes and Ceratti products required a design of multiple temperatures, because the development of a highly efficient design with various operating regimes allowed to adopt different solutions for each environment, including cooling (0ºC ), air conditioning (+ 10 ° C) and frozen (-20 ° C).
