With great sorrow we have received the message that Professor P. Ole Fanger has passed away His professional achievements was remarkable and produced many honors indeed, he was among the most decorated scientists in our field. He held honorary doctorates at 15 universities abroad and was a member or honorary member of numerous prominent scientific associations, including the US National Academy of Engineering. Altogether, Ole Fanger received 79 prizes and awards from 29 different countries. I had the honor as Rehva president in 2001 to give Ole Fanger the first Rehva gold medal. With him an era in Indoor Climate research is ending, and many of us has lost a close and good friend.
