On 11th of September 2019, the first anniversary of the Engineers Europe Advisory Group (EEAG) was held by FEANI, the largest European Engineers’ Federation and brought together an informal consortium of stakeholders from academia, industry, policy makers and professional organisations.
The official ceremony and very interesting roundtable discussions tackled various numbers of topics as the digital transformation with a special focus on supporting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) programme; adaptation of education, skills gabs, ethical aspects of digitalisation and others. Providing better cooperation between academic and business worlds on the future of work, the role of engineers in Europe and society.
REHVA welcomes this initiative and strive to supporting this Group in a meaningful way to join forces in the common areas when addressing challenges posed by digitalisation, enhancing the status of engineers and ensuring sufficient engineers to meet future demands and to actively explore the implications of digitalisation for engineering. It is crucial to build bridges between various stakeholders, academia and industry.
