The Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) Committee of the European Parliament has adopted the compromise amendments to the "Report on Implementation of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD)" with a wide majority.

The report is an own initiative from the European Parliament to give its opinion to the Commission on the implementation of the current EPBD and the upcoming proposal for a revision, planned for December 2021. The draft report was published on 14 July 2021 under rapporteur Seán Kelly and the ITRE Committee has now adopted its amendments on the draft report. Now that the report has been adopted within the ITRE Committee, it will be discussed in the plenary of the Parliament next where it will be up for voting again.
