The European Commission is developing a roadmap on "the reduction of whole life carbon of buildings" that is planned to be published in early 2023. Currently the Commission, with the support of a contract consortium, is putting together a supporting study for the development of this roadmap.

The roadmap aims to include benchmarks and thresholds that would form the basis for future legislative initiatives to support policies achieve cliamte neutrality by 2050. The contracted consortium currently welcomes contributions from stakeholders who share previously completed studies on the topic, both at EU and national level. 

Earlier in March 2022 the consortium presented the roadmap and supporting study in a webinar, where they presented the scope of the study and how stakeholders are being engaged.
